The JourneyEncountering Jesus

About us

Not a church. A community of many churches.

Our mission

To inspire, challenge,
and equip.

We exist to inspire, challenge, and equip members for Christian action in their homes, churches, places of work, schools, and all facets of their daily lives.

The Journey to Encountering Jesus is a multi-day event designed to present Christ in a way that meets people where they actually live — not in theory, not on Sunday only, but on Monday morning with a full inbox and a hard conversation waiting.

What we believe

Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life — and salvation comes from Christ alone.

That single conviction is the floor we all stand on. Everything else — tradition, denomination, worship style, the arguments we could have — we leave at the door.

The plain facts

Here's exactly
who we are.

We are not a church

We don't hold weekly services and we're not trying to replace your congregation. We're a community initiative. When the weekend ends, we send you back to your church — hopefully more useful to it than when you left.

We are non-denominational

Our board is made up of members from a range of Christian traditions, and participants have come from thirteen different churches so far. Nobody is recruiting you to anything.

We are local

Journey events are held in South Central Kentucky. We are based in Bowling Green and we serve the communities around us.

We are volunteer-led

A board of ten directors — all members of this community — carries the work. Keith Packard serves as Board Chair. Every Journey team member is a volunteer, and most of them attended a Journey themselves before they ever served on one.

Before you ask

The practical details

Who can come

Teens 14–18.
Adults 19+.

Teen and adult weekends are held separately, each shaped for the people in the room.

What it costs

About $80.
Or nothing.

Scholarships are available, quietly and without fuss. Money has never kept anyone from a Journey and it isn't going to start now.

What you need to know

Nothing
in advance.

No theological knowledge required. A prior commitment to Christ is helpful, but it is not a requirement. Come as you are.
